Version: 3.1.2

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

Java Version: Jre7u7

Description of Problem:

I have had this server running off and on for the past few weeks to service my friends and I. Today, when routinely starting the server, it decided not to bind to the port it has so many times before. I then switched it to a backup port I had set up and had the same error of not being able to bind to the port. I shortened the log to only include the last area that was normal up to, and including the irregularity. I just retried the server so there are no mistakes and I copied the last chunk of info.

You either already have a server running (check task manager for java.exe and kill the process if it's there), or you've entered an server ip in server.properties that isn't actually the IP address of the computer you're trying to start this on

That's what I don't get, I am using the same computer I always have to run the server. i just checked the server.properties file and my server IP has not changed since i created it.

--20 minutes later--

I just logged into my Verizon IP for my router and it looks like the last 2 digits of my IP address for my computer has changed from .1.6 to .1.4. the new .1.6 is titled "new host-5". I'll have to keep watch for this again and thank you Wendo for your idea based on the IP.
