No New Ores

I've been mining quite a lot recently (branch mining, quarry, etc) and I realized that I have yet to find any of the new ores. At first I thought it was just bad luck but now I'm certain that there aren't any. The only possible reason I can think of for this to happen is that the world was originally generated with the Technic pack, but I switched it to Tekkit when I found out that were a few mods regarding machines that were not in Technic but were in Tekkit. Could this be the cause of my lack of new ores? If so, is the only solution starting a new world with the Tekkit pack?

If the world was originally a Technic world you will be having larger issues that simply not having ores. The block ID's are different between the two pack IIRC. There are also likely many other issues. I would just start a new world.

The ore problem seems to be the only serious problem (at least that I've noticed). I just wish I would have noticed this problem earlier rather than now. I've put quite a bit of work into my current world. Thanks for the quick reply.
