My account cant authenticate to minecraft.net, and my normal download doesnt work

Launcher Version: 1.0.1.3

Operating System: windows office (i believe)

Java Version: the latest one, i re-installed it a few times, i checked 32 or 64 bit and all that, not sure what the version's called

Antivirus Program:

Description of Problem:

ive had alot of problems, when i download the techniclauncher, it doesnt download its files properly, so i copied the files of somone else's computer (refreshed, so no last-logins or anything) because otherwisei cant even GET tekkit, nexti cant use the launcher.exe, that just doesnt do anything, so i have to use the .jar in my .techniclauncher, then it takes FOR-EVER to load up, longer then normal (i was able to do everything without issues at all a few weeks ago), and when i do finnaly get to my launcher, it says tumblr feed is down, everytime, and when i try to connect, it says my account cant be authenticated to minecraft.net, but when i try that on normal minecraft, i CAN just normally connect, (and yes, i bought minecraft, so i dont have anything cracked)

but.. i AM on 32-bit

The "Program Files (x86)" directory is only for 32-bit software. If you're on a 32-bit computer, you can't run 64-bit software, so there's no need for two program folders. If you have Java installed in "Program Files (x86)" you have the wrong version, regardless of anything else about your computer. Java's site is a touch flaky and just hands out the 32-bit version to everybody. Normally it'd be fine, but Tekkit is just too big to be happy in 32 bits, so the launcher will only use a 64-bit version on a 64-bit computer.

You don't need to do the uninstall and reboot and delete this time, as that was just required to definitely clear out all of the remnants of Java 6.

hehe, no comment about my desktop xD

but i did use the dit button, it even says "last edited by", just when i do edit something, i put in EDIT; myself, so people now its done later then the post while reading it

The "Program Files (x86)" directory is only for 32-bit software. If you're on a 32-bit computer, you can't run 64-bit software, so there's no need for two program folders. If you have Java installed in "Program Files (x86)" you have the wrong version, regardless of anything else about your computer. Java's site is a touch flaky and just hands out the 32-bit version to everybody. Normally it'd be fine, but Tekkit is just too big to be happy in 32 bits, so the launcher will only use a 64-bit version on a 64-bit computer.

okay so i get that, install succesfull, and my normal minecraft works (although it also did with 32-bit), and my tekkit now doesnt crash on "run" but it gets stuck on the techniclauncher grey blue logo for a looooong time, (1/ 1/2 hours), and when i look in task manager, it isnt actually processsing anything

now i believe that was a question in the FAQ, so ill go back there now, if that doesnt work, i will edit this port to say it didnt yet

EDIT; okay so i didnt find a proper solution, but i did find this:

"I downloaded the Technic Launcher on my new Dell Inspiron I just got and I needed a Java something Environment 7 and I downloaded it, but when I start up Technic, the Technic Launcher thing pops up after I start it and it just stays there and doesn't do a dam thing about it. I NEED HELP!!!!!!"

that seems to be my problem aswell, the answer to this was:

" as far as I know, I think this has to do with a slightly corrupted file bit but I forget which one it is that you have to delete... Try searching it on here and if no luck there google it. Have fun!"

but we just (tried to) fix my corrupted java, does this mean my java is still corrupt then? or is it just the fact hat i have a 32-bits computer, even tho 64 bits java did intsall succesfully?

When the launcher hangs on the splashscreen/technic logo, it means something is preventing you from downloading the mods from the technic site. That something is a firewall or virus scanner. So you can either disable your firewall and virus scanner, or you can open their management page, find the block logs, find where they blocked technic (might be listed as Java instead) and use the allow/pass/green buttons or menu options to let technic work.

that makes sense, im a CoD4 player, and everytime my firewall is having issueas, i get a problem where my CoD4 cant read multiplayer IP's

wich im having right now, ( i can play on the servers, but it only shows Ip's. no server titles for instance)

i think what caused that is my system rollback, only thing i can think off

edit: and that was EXCACTLY what the deal was, everything is up and running right now, and SSP works like a charm, will try SMP with soem friends this weekend
