rp2 sorters

i need some help since im extremely terrible with RP2 Sorters (sorting machines).

how can i make it so sorter connect kinda things

(example: 1 sorting machine is full and i want to use a different one to use in the same system)

and also what are the modes on the sorters? haha i never actually know except the last one which lets you place a default route.

Well, you can place multiple sorting machines next to eachother and if you just leave the sorting machine in the first mode, if the item is registered in the sorting machine they'll go that path. Just always make sure to have a storage chest in this system with a restriction tube so every non-registered item goes there.
