I need a good storage facility. How do you organize your storage facility? (Not automatic just chests).

I use Alchemy bags which means I never really need to use chests. Just dump everything in there and click to sort button at the top left.

I make one or two chests for each type/category of block or item, then I label them with signs. For example, dirt, sand, and gravel go in one chest, while stone and cobble go in another, etc.
