The Launcher won't launch

Operating System: Windows Vista

Java Version: 7

Antivirus Program: Windows Deffender

Description of Problem:

When I activate the Technic Launcher Updater it doesn't launch it just gives me an error saying "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the problem and notify you if a solution is available." The only option is to click "Close Program" when I do nothing happens.

This seems to be a common problem recently. Try all of the basic troubleshooting options for the launcher (delete/reinstall).

Let me know if it worked. Trying to find a solution, but there doesn't seem to be any real link between the people having this problem.

A way around this is to download the .jar launcher from the technic site, and run it with Java.

That solution hasn't been working for people with the issue (at least the threads that I've read). OP, I would try it just to be sure.

It worked for me once I'd managed to download and save the jar file as a jar instead of a zip.
