How to change an items ID

How do I change an items ID so I can use a mod?

You can change item and block IDs in a mod's config file.

unfortunately the runic dust mod does not come with a config file(sorry should have said that before)

It does have a config file. It's either crashing before it generates it, which seems very unlikely, or you're looking for it in the wrong place. You could attempt finding someone else's copy of the config file somewhere on the Internet, change the IDs to some that work for your game, and put it in the correct place.

ok i found the config file and it works but now im trying to get it to work on my server but all i need is the config file because it wont load, could you possibly help?
