Launcher Version: 1.0.1.0

Operating System: Windows 8

Java Version: JRE 6U30

Antivirus Program: Managed Antivirus

Description of Problem:

when I double click to load the executable, instead of loading it brings up a screen with the text in the "error message" field followed by a loading bar that completes and then the window closes down and nothing further happens. I have tried running in windows XP service pack 3, and windows 7, as well as windows Vista and its service packs. I have also tried each running as administrator.

Error Messages:

windows is looking for a solution to the problem...

This has been a common problem lately. Delete your .techniclauncher folder, and redownload the Linus/Jar version. If you are using IE, you may need to rename the extension to .jar

And if you need to right click on the .jar and choose run with java.

Hey thats my line!

Plus mine is better:

I am getting a “Technic Launcher has Stopped Working Error”!

If your launcher is encountering this error, a solution is to download the .jar file from http://www.technicpack.net/download/ (pick the third from the left (Linux/Jar)). If you are using Internet Explorer you will also need to change the file extension (the ending of the file) to .jar instead of .zip. Once you’ve done that, all you need to do is double-click on the file to run the launcher.
