Problem with loading singleplayer worlds

Operating System: Mac book air

Java Version: newest

Antivirus Program: Sophos Anti Virus

Description of Problem:

When ever i try to load/ create a singleplayer world it always works for 5 seconds then says Saving Chunks, and then shows the crash screen and then the screen goes white and never does anything. HELP!
