technic lancher wont work

Description of Problem:

when i click on the technic lancher to says :technic lancher has stoped working

plzz help i just got a new computer and i want to play tekkit i have installed java

If disabling your AV doesn't work, try this:

I am getting a “Technic Launcher has Stopped Working Error”!

If your launcher is encountering this error, a solution is to download the .jar file from http://www.technicpack.net/download/ (pick the third from the left (Linux/Jar)). If you are using Internet Explorer you will also need to change the file extension (the ending of the file) to .jar instead of .zip. Once you’ve done that, all you need to do is double-click on the file to run the launcher.

Look for other firewalls too. If your computer is brand new, it likely has Windows Defender on it as well.

I highly suggest not using Norton, at all. You should use avast! instead! It's free and it's not "here put this on every computer you make to make people buy my product" :)

when i save the file as .jar and try to open it it says this:error:invalid or corrupt jarfile
