RavioliFaceMan Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 SOLVED - I was just looking in the wrong place So yeah, I have a bit of a problem... NVidia Control Panel is responsible for choosing which programs on my computer need dedicated graphics (650M) and which only need the integrated card, but it can only do so for executables, so I can only get Tekkit to run on the integrated one, which is a pain. Even on lowest settings, I can't double-tap space quickly enough to go into fly mode. Any thoughts on getting/making a .exe launcher?
Hushful Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 You mean like the one that's for the windows download?
RavioliFaceMan Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 Yup probably just made a fool of myself but that's what these forums are for right?
RavioliFaceMan Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 So why does the .jar launcher dowload by default?
Hushful Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 No idea, I'm just a lowly forums member like you.
Jorcer Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 So why does the .jar launcher dowload by default? I don't think it does. If that is the case it was likely changed (it used to download the exe) because of the dozens of posts a day regarding issues with the exe not working. They likely changed it (if they did change it) to try and cut down on that.
RavioliFaceMan Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 Oh the Java version thing? Makes sense. In any case, NVidia Control Panel wanted java.exe and javaw.exe anyway, not launcher.exe

RavioliFaceMan Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 That's caused by an outdated version of Java though right? Bah, fortunately I've never had this error
Jorcer Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 That's caused by an outdated version of Java though right? Bah, fortunately I've never had this error Nope almost all of the bug reports say they have Java 7u7. A few people are actually trying to figure out what is causing it because we don't know what is causing it. They made a spreadsheet and everything.
