Connection to server constantly resets and Windows laucher does not work at all

Tekkit Version: 3.1.2

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Java Version: Oracle Java 7 update 7

Antivirus Program: Microsoft security Essentials

Description of Problem:

Firstly, the Windows Technic Laucnher does not run anymore, I get a generic "Technic Launcher has stopped working". Secondly, using the .jar laucher I can connect to the server for about 30 seconds at a time before the connection is reset or before i get an end of stream error. I have restarted my router and restarted my connection So I'm failty sure its not a connection issue.

I tried using the Window's launcher when I first got Tekkit. I quickly realized that it was too buggy to use. My guess is that you just have to be more stubborn than the computer right now.

The actual exe issue, I believe this is a problem with 64 bit Java 7, but I am not certain.

Uninstall all of your java's (look for possible other copies)

Restart your computer, and reinstall 7u7x64.

Should work after that, hopefully.

Hi, I might have fixed the connection, error. i have re installed Tekkit onto my server. I shall post an update following that. Regarding the launcher log suggestion. Do you mean for the Windows Launcher error or the connection one? I don't think it will be possible for me to get the launcher log for the launcher error as as soon as i run the .exe it get the problem. For now I'm using the .jar one, which is a bit rubbish in my opinion as the windows one lets me allocate more RAM to Minecraft.

Also, I don't think it is wise to be on a forum posting when you are inebriated.

Sorry about the lack of words. I've installed the 64 bit version of Java now and restart my pc etc etc, however I'm still getting the End of stream/ Connection reset error.
