0 logoster Posted October 17, 2012 Author Posted October 17, 2012 oh, and before anyone says anything, YES I DID TRY RE-INSTALLING JAVA RUNTIME, so dont ask
0 Jorcer Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Don't bump, use the edit button (and there is no need to yell ) I need more info to help you. Can you edit your original post with the following: Bit version of your OS (32 or 64) Bit version of your Java (32 or 64) Update version of your Java (7u7, 7u9, etc.) The error log from your .techniclauncher logs folder Anything you have already tried.
0 logoster Posted October 17, 2012 Author Posted October 17, 2012 32 bit everything, and ive tried deleting my whole entire java folder and re-installing it, which did re-add the cfg file, but now when i start it, the cmd prompt window says something about missing class file or osmething like that, so i lookes that up on google, and found something called jarfix, so i tried that, and it says i dont have the runtime envirement installed, even though i know i do, as vannila minecraft runs fine, so i looked up some more info, and it said that things like the technic launcher jar should be using the javaw.exe file instead of the java.exe file, so i changed it to do that, and now, it does absolutley nothing when i double click, nothing at all, and the error log from my techniclauncher folder has the same info as all my other logs from when it did work, so im not really sure why its not working, as ive tried everything, and it just stopped working when i was trying to get multi-mc to work, which also works fine, in-fact, the only mc thing i have that wont run is technic, so can someone please help me? (oh, and sorry for yellling, i just get really mad when people ask about stuff that i said i already tried
0 Jorcer Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 You need to uninstall Java from the control Panel IIRC. Sounds like you have a lot of things going on there. I would recommend nuking all Java related files and all Technic related files and starting from scratch. Other than that I don't know what to tell you. Sorry :(
0 logoster Posted October 17, 2012 Author Posted October 17, 2012 also i just ran my task manager side by side while trying to run technic launcher, and the javaw.exe file opens for like 1 second this just closes, so mabey its crashing?
0 Jorcer Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Have you tried right clicking and selecting Run with... Java.exe (That is the one I use not javaw.exe)
0 logoster Posted October 17, 2012 Author Posted October 17, 2012 well, with java.exe i get the missing class error message
0 Jorcer Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 well, with java.exe i get the missing class error message What does that message say?
0 logoster Posted October 17, 2012 Author Posted October 17, 2012 well idk now, as i just tried the deleting everything java and technic related then re-installing, and now java does show up in program files, but when i tell windows to launch the .jar with it, it completley ignores me, and opens it with 7z, and when i click the java with the open with dialog, it wont choose it, it just go's straight back to the screen and wont select java, period, so now what should i try?
0 Jorcer Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 To fix that you need to change the extension of the file from .zip to .jar
0 logoster Posted October 17, 2012 Author Posted October 17, 2012 it is a .jar, and i did check by right clicking and going to properties and windows did say its a .jar file
0 Jorcer Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 it is a .jar, and i did check by right clicking and going to properties and windows did say its a .jar file That is very odd... Jar files are usually set to open with Java by default. Have you at any point changed that?
0 logoster Posted October 17, 2012 Author Posted October 17, 2012 no, and if you need, i can make a quick vid showing my problem
0 Jorcer Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 What is the name of the file you have (with the extension)?
0 Jorcer Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 So it has the extension but it won't launch with Java? That is odd. I really don't know what else to suggest. Sorry If I think of anything I will be sure to post here.
0 logoster Posted October 17, 2012 Author Posted October 17, 2012 heres a vid if you want to see what's happening exactly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mm30LFQPpxE&feature=youtu.be btw, its still proccessing/uploading, so may take a few mins, ill edit this post once its done
0 Jorcer Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I'll take a look but no promises I will be able to help...
0 logoster Posted October 18, 2012 Author Posted October 18, 2012 nvm, turns out my registry was messed up, had to delete all java registry and re-install java, and boom, works again, but thx anyway, can an op or admin close this thread?
0 Jorcer Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Glad you fixed it. Have fun. Mods/admins don't usually close threads but if you don't want to get alerts you can unfollow the thread (button at the top right)
