Technic Launcher White Screen Mac

Launcher Version: 1.0.2.0

Operating System: Mac OSX Lion 10.7 64x

Java Version: Java JDK 7

Antivirus Program: None

Description of Problem:

Whenever I open the launcher it works fine and the i enter my login info and press "login" and it takes me to a white screen and shortly after it flashes black and the whole launcher just quits and disappears.

You need to downgrade your Java to Java 6. There is a thread here that gives you step by step instructions on what to do. Just use the search button and you should find it.

Ok, so I found a video on how to downgrade java, did it successfully (I am now running Java 6) I opened the launcher and clicked "login". It said "update failed". I checked the log and this is what i got...

For Mac users: OS X 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion)

This is a fix for those who had TechnicPack installed already

Do not downgrade to Java 6. All you have to do is tell the Technic launcher to use a different location for loading Java. (I don't know how best to explain that)

First download my two files which are

You should be past the permission error now and can run TechnicLauncher.command through Terminal.

If this doesn't work for you, please send me a message through the forums. (I don't check back on forum posts often)

Just so you know, according to that log, you still had Java 7 so you didn't do it right.

I am having problems with my Technic Launcher.

I am on a Mac, running OSX10.8.2 and Java 7

I deleted my "techniclauncher" folder in "application support" and deleted my old launcher.

Then I downloaded the new launcher (for Mac) from the website. (a .jar file)

I ran the .jar file, but then all I see is this:

I am having problems with my Technic Launcher.

I am on a Mac, running OSX10.8.2 and Java 7

I deleted my "techniclauncher" folder in "application support" and deleted my old launcher.

Then I downloaded the new launcher (for Mac) from the website. (a .jar file)

I ran the .jar file, but then all I see is this:

I figured out how to fix the interface issue.

Simply click around on the launcher where you expect the Modpack selector to be, and you'll see the list of modpacks appear. Select one, and the interface should start coming back. Login with your details, and then it should be all back to normal.

Although now, the game crashes right after I load up Voltz, before getting to the Mojang screen.

well, that solves the grey launcher problem, but after logging in it still crashes

OK, so several of us have upgraded to java 7 (which is what Apple has told us all to do), and there are plenty of places where there are instructions for "downgrading" (removing java 7), but all these instructions seem to only actually affect java as a plugin and java webstart. I followed the instructions on the Oracle site. The java "system settings" applet is no longer available, but when I run tekkit, I'm still using java 7.

Downgrading to an admittedly insecure version of java isn't a great solution. Is there somewhere I can download the source code for the launcher? Perhaps I can track the real problem (which I suspect is related to using 1.2.5 with java 7, but it may not be).
