Tekkit crash on startup

Description of Problem:

When I startup tekkit, the window it goes white than closes. Did a full reinstall of very thing, the techniclauncher folder and java

Tekkit's error log is what you want, not the launcher's. The launcher did its job: launched Tekkit.

In either case, go into Techniclauncher's options, and clear cache.

Likely you are using Java 7. You need to use Java 6. There is a post about that somewhere on the forums, try searching.

You don't really want to suggest that. Most mods are now compiling, as is Forge itself, for Java 7. You will get strange bugs and errors in Java 6 and earlier.

No, the issue is that Apple released their version of Java 7 (this is different than the windows one) and removed most backwards compatibility. What this means is that mods that were created before the change (less than a month IIRC) don't function well. Currently the only solution for Mac users is to downgrade their Java version. If the OP was using Windows, you would be entirely correct.
