Serendipity is filled with the some of the best plugins bukkit has to offer, allowing players to create towns and nations, rent and setup their own shop and have their containers protected automatically upon placement amongst several other features. We also aim for 24/7 uptime. Connecting to Serendipity is extremely easy! If you haven't already, simply download the Technic Launcher and choose the Tekkit modpack - ensure that you are also using the version of the modpack which corresponds to the version we are running server side. After that, simply use our above IP to connect to the server as you would normally. Once you have connected there is a short read-through section in order to give new players information and helpful tips when first joining the server. After that, try exploring our vast and detailed spawn town, or set out to begin your adventure! Make sure that you walk or teleport a significant distance away from spawn in order to start building - once you see a light blue message indicating you have left the protection zone, you have traveled far enough. Serendipity is equipped with a versatile and fun town system in which players can create towns with protected regions, join towns into nations, own personal plots and more. Towns can claim 8 16x16 areas per resident, which are protected from damage or change from outside members, unless changed by the town mayor. This allows players to develop their empires and structures without being disturbed by outsiders. All players also receive free automatic private protection upon the placement of most containers, such as chests or IC2 machines. This prevents other players from opening, destroying or looting your property. To remove a lock from a container, do /unlock. To add others to your private protection, do /cmodify {name1} {name2} and right click the protection. Serendipity also features a number of plugins which come together to make a fun and automated economy, heavily encouraging the use of player-to-player economy rather than player-to-server. Players can of course find the main administration boutique in the upper Spawn village, but other shops exist as well! Specialized shops exist within the voter's zone, and secret shops hidden creatively in the spawn zone offer low prices on useful goods. Serendipity features a player marketplace equipped with small, lost cost stands in which players can create their own shops showcasing their items for sale. Players can also setup reverse showcase shops - instead of selling items to others, players can setup shops to buy items from players. This can even be configured to have a max purchase amount so you don't have to worry about going bankrupt! ShowCase shops can only be setup by Members (2h) or higher, this is to prevent large numbers of abandoned shops. We also have a command based stock market, for some fun and suspenseful money making on the side! Several other plugins also enhance gameplay on the server. NPC Citizens - The Spawn town is filled with a number of lively NPC citizens, especially in the village areas, who talk to players, enhancing the depth of the spawn zone. Online Live Map - A beautiful, in depth live map is available to anyone on our website at all times. DeathControl - Configured so that you keep all items when you die! No more losing all of your diamonds to unfortunately placed lava pools. Ticket system - A player can submit a help ticket to the staff team at any time, and staff will review it as soon as possible. (/ticket) PVP Areans - In the mood for some PVP? then hop into one of our many PVP arenas. (/pa) Region Markets - Rent an available region at any time by right clicking the rental sign, usually found very close to the respectful region. Auto Rank - Go all the way from Guest to Veteran automatically, only by playing! the first rank up is to member after 2 hours, which grants the ability to create ShowCase shops. Interesting, unique terrain - Staff members constantly are creating special custom terrain in the world for players to discover, and sometimes even profit from! CoreProtect - helps protect and rollback greifing StockMarket - trade stocks, receive dividends, become rich if you are skilled Banned Mods: Equivalent Exchange 2 - We feel as this mod is overpowered and unbalances economy, as well as having several security exploits. ComputerCraft - This is disabled due to the large amount of malicious code which can be created with it. Wireless Redstone - This is disabled due to performance and stability reasons. Will reviewed. Additional Pipes - Disabled due to performance, stability and corruption reasons. Will be reviewed. EnderChest - Corruption issues. Banned Items: Mining Laser, Quantum Armor, Balkon's dynamite and cannons, Nukes, Crystal chests No hacking, hack/cheat clients or similar. No using exploits or glitches. If you find one, please report it immediately. Please do not spam and/or advertise. Bypassing Towny, LWC (locked containers) or region protections is strictly prohibited. Please do not make a habit of writing messages in all caps. Please do not ask staff for items, money or rank ups. Please try to be courteous and use common sense. Players can vote 6 times per day on Serendipity on six different websites. Votes grant $50 each, 2 copper chests, a random item draw and 24 hour access to the voting zone. Dazza Posted November 20, 2012 Share Posted November 20, 2012 Serendipity is a remarkable Minecraft Tekkit server. I would highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys Tekkit. Unlike most Tekkit servers Serendipity has banned Equivalent Exchange (EE). This is a VERY good thing!!! Why? With the use of EE players can achieve super creative mode in less than a week of play time (if you know what you are doing). This spoils the game for everyone. You lose the need to mine, collect resources and explore the world. Now what’s the point of minecraft if you can’t do that? I’ve personally played for over 300 hours on this server and never had a bad experience, the team of staff are always helpful and with the ticket system all concerns are resolved quickly. Serendipity has rewards for player kills and special PvP areas that players can join and fight to the death. Luckily for those not into killing most towns in the server are PvP free. If you become a part of one or start your own you can sleep easy knowing that you won’t end up dead or have your buildings destroyed. Player to Player trade is very common on Serendipity with members being able to rent stores in the main town. This allows for players to easily make money so that they can buy items and expand their towns. If you get on come visit my shop. Darnitguy Posted December 4, 2012 Share Posted December 4, 2012 I really enjoy playing on this server. The owner is very helpful and the staff is fair and understanding. Once you join there are many great things to help, money for voting (also items) and also great shops. There are also many plugins to help protect your stuff, which I find VERY helpful considering lots of people might try to grief or troll you on any server, here they help prevent that.
