tekkit launcher and tekkit server arnt working together

i downloaded the tekkit server and ran it, works fine. downgraded my mincraft to 1.1. then I started up the tekkit launcer and it downloaded everything and put me to the main menu, but then i try to connect to the server and it says i am missing like 6 mods...do i have to go out find those mods and download them individually or is there a simple way to do it? i don't want everybody that goes to my server have to do that to. If anyone could help out i would be very grateful.

also in case it matters i have windows 7 and a 64 bit operating system

You need to make sure you're using the same version of tekkit as your server is.

oh... well ok i tryed the 2.0 server rather then the 2.1.1 and it works now so thank you very much!...but how would i play on 2.1.1?

you would change your client version rather than your server version.
