Closing on Launch

I've seen elsewhere that an issue with modpacks closing after launch can be fixed by downgrading java to 8u25; firstly, I can't figure out how to do this when it's not a supported version anymore, and secondly why am I only just now having problems with it? I'm currently running 8u92 64bit. Reply if you want a launcher log or system information.

Why not just add said log or system information? Java8u25 only works for the Pixel format not accelerated issue with Windows 10 (graphics card related).
