I'm having the exact same problem, same versions all around on the client side. Server is Tekkit 3.1.3.

My log file ends with this after the client crashes:

No fix yet that I've found. Server admin says there's nothing in the logs on his end, and he's able to observe a Quarry without crashing. He's running on Windows.

It was somewhat odd, at first I was able to place the Quarry, power it, it made it's outer frame, and then I crashed when it started to mine. Later I would crash just when placing the Quarry, with or without powering it.

Ok guys for anyone who has this problem try switching to the recommended build on tekkit and, if your trying to run a server, use the appropriate version server

I did the second fix which you suggested and it worked fine! But then after the quarry had finished building I White screened, Running the latest version of lion on my Mac. I checked the server log but there was no error to be found. Just said i was kicked out for a generic reason. I have two friends that play on the server and both of them run windows and don't experience the white screen and can play fine. Just don't know what to do really :/

I am experiencing the exact same problem, on a friend's server (Tekkit 3.1.3, I'm on Mac OSX 10.6.8). Quite frustrating. It occurs I believe as soon as the quarry spits out a block. Anyone know a fix?

If you were to read just a few posts above yours, you would find the answer.

This problem is quite easily fixed, I'll link you to a thread which explains:

http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/3-1-3-reported-issues-and-possible-fixes.30863/

Solution 2 in this post will fix your server. I reccomend applying all of the fixes in it, so you don't have to do so later.

Any update on this, I've done all the server side fixes (railcraft api). The issue is defiantly client side. I'm not expert at this but it's either the Quarry or Pipes, and only on mac. I need an expect, or an update ...
