Crashes after clicking login

Launcher Version: 1.0.2.0

Operating System: Mac Osx Lion 10.7.5

Java Version: Java 7 update 9

Antivirus Program:

Description of Problem:

This has been going on for months now. As soon as I click login the screen for the launcher goes white and then closes. I select Tekkit and allocate 1 GB of memory. I cant tell for sure if I am running the correct version of java or not because of the lack of the java preferences in the new version from Oracle.

You should try downgrading your Java to version 6. (From Apple)

Incorrect. He SHOULD downgrade. Try is not an option. As Java 6 is required to run this on a Mac.

Edit: in here somewhere is the link to the apple product you need. Sorry, not going to dig for it for you.

But, it's not an option. His launcher just won't work with Java 7, and that's Apple's fault.

Yah I want to downgrade to it but dont know how to because they took the easy way using java prefernces out in the new version. Do u know how i can downgrade it cause u said it was in here whcih i assume means forums and i cant find it. thsnks

I did what it told me to do on the apple website. Still it is using java 7 instead of 6. Obviuosly something didn't work. I tried several times. Any advice?

What didn't work was you didn't get Java 6 to be the Java being used.
