how do you install optifine to technic?

every time i install optifine it doesnt load or it crashes and i have the dev build of 1.4.5 and i have the correct version of optifine, how do i install it? someone help me please!

it's already in there isn't it?

if not:

1) download optifine

2) open zip

3) move all contents of zip to modpack.jar

that should be it. Unless there is an incompatible mod.

i thought it had to be put in the minecraft.jar ? because its just like the normal minecraft aint it? i will try doing it your way and will let you know!

with the technic launcher, anything that is supposed to go into the minecraft.jar needs to go into the modpack.jar.

however, I'm pretty sure optifine is already in there.

It isn't in the newest dev builds. I've noticed issues with the Ultra version with limbs disappearing and the game eventually crashing, but only with that version. Of course, I haven't tried smooth, but that's because I want multicore chunk loading.

I had that problem. I increased the voltage and reduced GPU clocks on my card and it fixed. I was having the common ATI driver has crashed.

it's weird because I'm not OC'd, I have a core 2 quad with 16GB DDR3 and a Radeon HD 6850 with a 1000W PSU. I should have more than enough power especially considering I only have 3 HDD and no optical.
