OS: Windows 7 home premium 64bit

Java Version: Java 7 update 9, 32 and 64bit installed

Description of Problem:

I am attempting to run my 3.1.2 tekkit server but cannot connect. I can run the server and connect on a different computer but not on the one the server is running on.

Error Messages:

java.net.socketexception: permision denied: connect

You should delete the IP you set after the server-ip=

Then try launching the server and connecting again.

Well, if you want to use Hamachi with it then you'll need to re-enter the IP back after server-ip=

But if you can portforward, you can just leave it blank and it'll be fine.

If you use Hamachi, chances are you'll either get the same problem. But you can obviously try connecting to your server using your Hamachi IP.

An option if you are wary about security is portforwarding, and instead of giving people your actual IP, give them one you can generate over at http://no-ip.com since then they won't be able to find out your IP.

I'd definitely recommend portforwarding.

Connection refused: connect

means something is activly stopping the connection or forecfully closing the connection, either router, firewall or av, most likely not a tekkit problem but a problem with your compuer and or network, and since nothing should really effect anything on the loopback adapter then you need to start looking at other programs you have running on your computer

Just to let you know i've tried all sorts of things and port forwarding was still not the answer, if i leave the ip black in the properties i can connect with local host but nobody else can connect with my ip, if i put my ip in the properties nobody can connect.

if you are using hamachi and windows you need to adjust the adapter priority so that the server will bind to highest priority device, which is true for all vpns and hosting on windows

you can also manually adjust metric and advanced settings to do the same thing which is the better route

after applying port forwarding did you use anything to check to see if the port is actually open and forwarded correctly?

the computer you are using for the server does it have a static ip?

are you using any vpn programs to handle the connections?
