Description of Problem:

im trying to build an automated sorting machine using redpower sorting machine and pneumatic tubes. ive watched just about every video tutorial on youtube on the subject and followed the directions to the T but the system refuses to work. i place everything i want to be sorted into a crystal chest, first i tried placing a sorting machine next to the chest and supplying a redstone current. it did nothing. then i figured out that the machine needs power, i gave it the correct power and the battery is completely full, it takes on stack from the chest and becomes jammed or dosent accept anything at all. i tried replacing the sorting machine with a filter and im having the same problem. i cant understand whats wrong. please help me!

Is there a valid destination for the items to go?

There's obviously something wrong with the rest or the sorting machine. The items don't have a correct place to go to. This end of it is fine 100%.

alright thank you guys! ive made some progress! i forgot u needed buffers or something like that infront of the other sorting machines down the line. but now the first sorting machine wont mark unknown items with white and then becomes jammed again >.<
