Well yes, that's what happens if you start plucking mods off shady 3rd-party sites. The " _BuildCraft-Mod-1.7.10.jar" gave it away. For the matter, the version you are trying to use that way is 5.0.7. I can't even download that off curse(curseforge). So no, not strange its not working.
