m1Mezzy Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 So everytime I play Tekkit Classic my game eventually crashes because "Minecraft has run out of memory". After a quick search I found out that I can change the allocated memory in the launcher, but I can't go above 1 GB. Is there any way to go above that? It's obvious I need more.

Install Java 64-bit, then select 64-bit Java on the launcher and set the RAM allocation to something like 2 or 3 GB. More is not necessary for Tekkit, 3 GB is even on the high side.
Torezu Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Caveat: You need a 64-bit OS to be able to use 64-bit Java. If you don't have that, no amount of trying to assign more memory to Java is going to do you any good.
