Downloading Tekkit

Description of Problem:

When i download a modpack with the launcher it just keeps downloading the minecraft.jar then it says "Update Failed" i have even reinstalled the launcher HELP!!!!

It works with every other modpack!

Tekkit requires a downgrade patch when you are doing a fresh install. The current downgrade patch is from 1.4.5 to 1.2.5. The problem is, the launcher always pulls from the newest release, which was released today, which is 1.4.6. So we have to wait until the launcher folks update the 1.4.5 patch to 1.4.6 which normally takes about 12 freaking hours.

I have the same issue now too. However, this happens with EVERY Modpack build version I try, even the 1.2.5 ones. It keeps spamming me with 'Update Failed!'

Turn off Norton and redownload.

If shutting off norton doesn't help, try clearing your cache too.

It could also be an issue with the recent Minecraft update. If the above solutions fail, just be patient.
