Zip files in Mods folder?

Question:

I was peeking around in my Voltz folder located in the "techniclauncher" folder and came across the "mods" folder and there were things in there that caught my eye. There were 2 different sets of files sitting in there, one of them was .jar and the other was .zip. Are the .zip files supposed to be .jar files or is that just how it is?

That's just how it is. Part of what the launcher does is automagically put the stuff from the zips in the places they belong.
