Technic running on java 10 Maco osx

Question

Posted

terminals readings on java:
java version "10.0.2" 2018-07-17
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 18.3 (build 10.0.2+13)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 18.3 (build 10.0.2+13, mixed mode)

MacOS mojave:
Version 10.14.6
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)
Processor 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5
Graphics AMD Radeon R9 M390 2 GB

im pretty sure (from what ive read) that technic is having issues running due to the version of java im running, is java 10 a problem, and how can i fix it?
all im getting is the technic logo on my screen, itll stay there for hours, unless i close java. i have the latest version of technic installed.
before i got the logo, i went through the standard install process.
i also followed this guide which lead to the same problem:

its a little outdated it seems, but i could follow all the steps. might be worth noting, but i know ive gotten Technic to run on this OS before. but some update (either technic, Mac or java) ruined it. that was a while ago
