Making a spigot tekkit legends server

I want to play tekkit legends with my friends but the server that I downloaded from the technic website lags way too much. I read on a couple forums that making a spigot server generally reduces lag quite a bit but I just can't get it to work. If someone could help me I would greatly appreciate it

Spigot is vanilla only. You'll be looking at Kcauldron or Thermos. Both have their issues as well.

Which one is better in terms of performance?

Its not much performance vs performance thing, but more "is it compatible with what I run" thing. Thermos is slightly less old than Kcauldron.
