Why cant i see a .technic folder?

I've tried downloading technic like a hundred times and it never seems to work. Ive looked for werid symbols on folder, yet none appear. its never opens. And after seeing a comment on another forum, is say to look for a ".technic folder." ive looked. ive look so many times and it doesnt make one. is there a way to fix this? or am i stuck not being able to use technic?

Technic is an executable that's both the installer and the program in one. It puts all its files in the .technic folder, which is found in the %appdata%\.roaming folder in Windows (or the ~Application Support folder in Mac I believe, its been a while).
