minecraft not responding

this is actually for my friend he launched a modpack and it worked normally except when minecraft opened it showed a white screen so i told him to reinstall technic and that didnt work either. i told him to try a different modpack to see what happens and he did and this time it gave a white screen and said minecraft not responding. sorry for being wordy but i wanted to give as much information as possible. thanks in advance
