Issue's with quarry

Hi im trying to start a single player server to work on but im having problems getting the quarry to start, I hook up any engine and no engines will start. When I place the quarry the yellow/black framework appears and all looks normal until I hook up engines and they wont start.

I'v looked all over the web for a solution and have tried /op [buildcraft] but to no avail, I dont really understand the plugins part people say to check and have no idea how to look into it. Anyone have any ideas? appreciate any help, thanks.

if you have world guard you might have to do /trust [buildcraft]

Thanks for the reply but when I type that in it comes back as unknown code so guess I dont have world guard.

hey i had the same problem, the only thing i found to make it work was to put stirling engines on it (with coal inside them) and also powered by red stone

So, just to cover the basics, you are supplying the engines with power/fuel and a redstone signal if they need it, right? Electrical engines need a redstone signal to turn on. A picture of your setup might help as well.
