tekkit launcher wont launch

Launcher Version: Tekkit Classic 3.1.2

Operating System: windows 8

Java Version: version 6 update 34 or wahtever latest is 64bit and 86

Antivirus Program: Kaspersky internet security

Description of Problem:

OK so when i try to open Technic launcher it shows the box that says launcher version and the update bar but almost immediately after that opens another popup comes up and says "unable to download launcher. Please check your internet connection by opening www.techniclaunche.net in your web-browser." has anyone else had this problem? i am not sure if it has to do with windows 8 or with my security suite.

looks liek it couldnt load anymods besides forgemods somehow it couldnt find directory weaponsmod but was able to read its propperties succesfully

My technic launcher just stays at the "loading" screen forever and I am using the exact same specs as you are. If you need to access your %appdata% folder, you can hit the windows button and "r" to open up 'run'. From there, you can just type %appdata% and it will take you right to your roaming folder

Or in the search you type that anyway it seams like your technic launcher didn't download fully or propperly that or you need to try and run it as administrator see if that works.

Happened to me too. I have Windows 8, and I can find my AppData folder. It said to go to www.techniclauncher.net to download, and when I go there it works fine, but they sold their website, so when the launcher tries to download it goes to www.techniclauncher.net, instead of www.technicpack.net where it's supposed to go.

Try re-installing the Technic Pack.

From what I'm guessing from your error log, it's to do with ComputerCraft.

useing 64 bit java and trying to get tekkit lite and using windows8

ive tryed re-downloading it about 8 times and still it does nothing but my older launcher sayes that it cant load the logs folder in roaming and that another procsess is using it

Yes but the program isn't, right click it then go to 'run as administrator', if isn't a .exe then you cant do that.

techniclauncher is an .exe almost all programs are anything that you run is an .exe (.exe mean executable) and i have re downloaded many times and it hasn't worked also i have 64 bit java and 84 offline java now also mmgamez you might want to do a security scan i have a feeling you have a trojan that is being spread by your links.

oh also i downgraded my java to 6 32 i think it is whatever the last java 6 update is and running as administrator didnt help

Did you start up a world or did minecraft crash instant? because from what I can see it seems the FML crashed due to one thing crashing first, I cant tell if you actually got minecraft/tekkit to start up because above the error report it said it booted up fine, there shouldn't be a error due to the start up so i expect it to be something in/out game mainly optifine is my suspicion, sorry i can't rely help although i can say is try to open it through minecraft via this solution found that allows the mods to be played on minecraft instead the launcher,so any of the mod packs will work if you follow the instructions e.g. where it sais '\tekkitlight' you would in your case go to '\tekkitclassic'.

steps:

1. goto C:\Users\(User)\AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\tekkitlite and copy all the files.

2. goto C:\Users\(User)\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft and paste in all the files.

3. goto bin folder and right click on minecraft.jar and modpack.jar and open it with Winrar etc.

4. copy all files from modpack.jar to minecraft.jar.

5. Delete META-INF

6. start minecraft and it should work.

Backup your worlds/servers. Delete the .techniclauncher folder. And redownload the launcher from the website.

Thing is it could be multiple things stopping the launcher from downloading, it may be your antivirus blocking it although i think you should keep that on and use it as a last resort being i don't want your computer to die, anyway have you tried downloading it in another browser, it may be the browser stopping you being that it may be thinking its malicious(thinks it may be a virus), if that doesn't work then try resting your network(your internet connection) also test the speed of your internet, it may be the fact that it is timing out so it will keep canceling the download(if your speed says 0.5 megs or under on download you will need a better internet...like now) also if any of this (except antivirus) doesn't help try to get a mod(person) to help you by posting a new report and see if there is any error log appearing anywhere on your computer lastly search the rest of the forums and see if anyone ells is having the same problem.
