BlueAmbulance1000 Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I have a few questions for making a mod pack. Do I need to make an archive, is there a way to do the whole .zip thing manually? do I need to send my mod pack out to the public or can I keep it private? If I have to automatically do the archive, is there a way to do it with 7-zip? If I can do the archive thing manually, do I have to put in that folder named ..? If I do have to put in that .. folder, what are the contents?
BlueAmbulance1000 Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 I tried the thing out with no .. folder and a manual .zip, and it doesn't work. I can't use the mod, it doesn't even exist.
Wiffington Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 2. You can do what ever you want 3.Right click the custom file and send it to zip Dont understand rest of your Questions.

Do I need to make an archive? [answered] [answered] If I can finish the mod pack without the "making the archive" progress, do I have to make the folder named ..? If I have to put in the .. folder, what are the contents, what is in that folder? And how do I send the custom file to 7-zip? And if you look at my last comment, it says I tried to make a mod pack but it didn't work (I only had one mod in it).
thebird Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I forget the right terminology but the .. folder is a link to the parent directory, this is made automatically for each and every folder on your computer (except at the filesystem root). You do not need to do anything with this. Here is a link that explains how to make an archive with 7-zip (includes pictures).
