Hello.

I'm getting tired of this lag. I need help. Me and my friend are playing on my server, which i host on my own PC, but lately we've encountered massive update problems, I can see like 40 blocks maximum infront of me at all times, same as for my friend. When I move to a location where the game isn't updated, it updates, but slowly.

I tried to allocate memory like this for my launcher:

java -Xmx10G -Xms4G -jar Tekkit.jar nogui

pause

But it didn't help one bit.

Really, REALLY should I have problems running a tekkit server for 2 people on this PC?

This is my god damn PC:

CPU:Intel i7 3770K @ 4,2 Ghz OC

CPU cooling:Corsair H60 (2013)

GPU:Gigabyte GeForce GTX 690 4gb

Mobo:Gigabyte GX-UD5H

Memory:16gb Vengance 1600mhz

Soundcard: ASUS Xonar Essence STX

SSD:Crucial M4 256gb

HDD:WD 1000gb

PSU:Corsair 750W 80+ Gold

Chassi:Fractal Design Define R4 (window)

What Operating System are you using?

32bit or 64bit?

Remove your Overclock. It isn't needed and in lots of cases it will actually reduce performance. (namely ones where you don't also over-volt your CPU, which will significantly reduce its lifespan.)

Also unless your friend is connecting from the same local network as you (aka in your house) there is a good chance they will experience connection lag, from you homehosting your server.

Question, are you setting your Client to have all that 14gb avaliable, or are you setting your server to have all that memory? Because If your not giving the server enough memory, or have slow internet, both will cause issues for you, and then your friend.

Out of interest as there are only 2 of you playing on your server why have you allocated so much RAM to your Minecraft server?

2-4G will do plenty fine, in-fact most 4G Tekkit servers can hold between 30 and 50 players.

Also which WD drive are you using? the Caviar Black? or the Eco Green? (There is a blue... which is mid range, that should do fine too.) Is minecraft client and server stored on the same drive? Which one?
