Deactivating Item Menu

Hi guys,

not having found a better thread title a short description of my problem: How can you disable the menu on the right site of the inventory screen where you can give yourself all possible blocks. This, for the lack of a better word, "cheating" really took the fun away.

I already tried corporal punishment and deactivating NEI in the modloader.cfg on the server. Neither of which solved my problem.

In config\NEIServer.cfg you can set who can use the cheat mode. By default I thought only OPs can use it, so umm don't make server ops of people you don't want to be able to spawn items? Or just go into Options in the bottom right of your inventory and turn it to Recipe mode.
