  1. That is not one of the optional ones. most of the optional class files do not work in SMP anyway.
  2. Follow the instructions carefully, make sure you have the correct version for the version of tekkit you are running, make sure you have the forge patch, and I recommend removing the optional class files as well.
  3. Google "add java to path" and follow those instructions. Or edit the .bat to point directly to the java.exe instead of just calling it.
  4. hmmm, can probably just change "lockmode" from 1(true) to 0(false) so that the mode is not locked to whatever it is set as. Then I imagine you should be able to change it in-game.
  5. Everyone does have good points here, and honestly the first thing I thought was "why?" but lets take a step back here. Ignore his huge post argument about why it makes sense and blah blah... He wants to remove MV and HV solars but leave LV in. Why? Because it is his server and that is what will make it more fun for him. Makes much more sense now!
  6. You make the hollow covers with 8 covers. You could probably then combine the hollow covers into hollow slabs/blocks
  7. Seriously dude? Balance issues are NOT BUGS. If you are running a server and you don't want certain items in because YOU believe they are OP then it is YOUR responsibility to remove them. How you can even possibly call that a bug blows my mind. I lost any small bit of respect I may have had for you after your initial post, which granted wasn't damn much. My apologies for the overly harsh tone but that ^ just set me off.
  8. When he said load it last he meant change the load order, not just add it last heh. The load order is alphabetic unless I am mistaken. That is why some of the mods have a [1] in front of them, it is to move it up in the load order. To make forestry load last, add a Z to the beginning of the name of the file.
  9. Pipe them into a chest next to the auto crafting table. When you pull an MFE out of the table, the table will automatically replenish the un-stackable items from the adjacent chest.
  10. Did you uninstall java6, or go into the control panel/java and specify which version of java to use, or direct the servers launch.bat to run the java7 java?
  11. Client side is a lot more complicated. There are some dependencies. From here:http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/81771-v125-mo-creatures-v362-with-ostriches-fishbowls-and-smp-support/
  12. You are aware it can only spawn down on the gold level right?
  13. I am guessing simply drop the mod file in the servers mod folder. Now the client is another story... By the way, there is no 3.0 server yet, so good luck with that =)
  14. I don't know if it is now, but when I posted that it was not.
  15. I did. I read this: and this: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/admn-dev-permissionsbukkit-v1-6-official-default-groups-plugin-1-1-r5.26785/ Permissionsbukkit is a seperate plugin that does NOT come with bukkit, nor tekkit. It has to be installed on top of it to function. Permissions.yml is for setting parent permissions of permissionsbukkit. As far as I can tell however, it does nothing without the plugin being installed. So please do not act like this is a simple matter of us not reading when the OP clearly asked if they could use the permissions.yml without installing any other plugins. Based on the page you linked (which I am familiar with and have used to set up permissions on my own server) and I quote: "To use Bukkit's permission's system, you'll need to grab the latest version of PermissionsBukkit" meaning you need to install the plugin. If anyone actually has information on using the permissions.yml without installing the plugin, or just linking to the same page that does not explain how to do it, I would be interested in hearing it as well.
  16. How do you figure? The permissions.yml is generated on a clean tekkit install, however permissionsbukkit is a plugin that is not installed in tekkit. The page you linked says you need to install the plugin and the permissions are stored in the config.yml in the permissions folder, not permissions.yml in the root folder. Edit: I just found this: So the permissions.yml is used for setting advanced permissions, but it still requires permissionsbukkit to be installed first. The confusion seems to stem from that file, it appears to give the impression that there is already a way to set permissions in tekkit when this is not true without a seperate plugin.
  17. Like I said, I have never gotten that default permissions file to work. In fact I do not know what mod it is a part of or if it is possible to get it working. Permissionsbukkit is incredibly easy to set up. You just drop it in the plugins file, run the server once to generate the config and the config itself has a template that you can edit with notepad++ for easy setup. I recommend following the guide that dude linked.
  18. Probably the Permissions.yml that is generated automatically in a new tekkit server? The page you linked says you need to install the permissionsbukkit plugin, which the OP said he did not want to do. Personally I have never had luck with the"default" permissions file that is generated in the root server folder. I always install permissionsbukkit and use that config.yml which is generated in the plugins folder, like you suggested.
  19. You are right of course, I just assumed he was running the dev build for some reason. Thanks for the correction.
  20. Actually mo creatures is smp and bukkited now, but personally I haven't gotten it to work. to OP: You can go here: http://mcportcentral.co.za/wiki/index.php?title=Ports_for_1.2.5 That is a list of mods that can theoretically be added to the server. It is not a simple procedure usually, there will be block conflicts and such that you need to figure out. If you have specific issues you need help with you can ask them, but we can't exactly forsee all the issues you might have with any given mod you try to install. Also, any mods you add to the server are going to have to be added to any client that tries to connect to the server as well, like mr. moogle said. So that is a bunch more work on top of getting the server running. Stuff like bukkit plugins are a little easier to get working on the server usually, but still require some configuring. Basically it isn't an easy "tell me how to do this" type of thing. If you want to do it, do some research, get your hands dirty and just mess around with it.
  21. Restart your computer if you don't know how to go into task manager and end processes. The error you are getting with the launcher, according to the common problems sticky, is because you are using the wrong version of java. Here is what I would recommend: Go to control panel/applications and uninstall every version of java you currently have, now go download java 7 and make sure you get 64 bit since your OS is 64 bit.
  22. Do you have something specific in mind or do you just want new mobs? Mo creatures is smp and bukkited now, so that might go in eventually. Also you should probably put some more effort into your posts.
  23. Update to dev build .Techniclauncher/tekkit/mods Those are the mods currently in. Also: Meaning, it aint done yet so I don't know what use the list is until it is done.
  24. Is it near the spawn point? The chunk you spawn in is protected on servers, you cannot mine out the blocks by default. I believe you can dig them out if you make yourself an OP.
