Did you just encourage people to report moderators? That is not gonna end well. BTW, it is "either" not "eighter". Sorry, for some reason that misspelling particularly bugs me.

I assumed that since you "forgot about the post" that you had read it, and since you did post on this thread with constructive information, I assumed you posted after you read it. I didn't think you read it, realized you could help, but then waited three days to post your helpful information. "Oh I know what this guy needs. Maybe if he bumps his post a few more times I will tell him!" Dude waited 8 hours to bump his post with "anyone?" The oldest thread on the front page was replied to over 20 hours ago. His post was still on the front page and would have easily remained there for quite awhile. I fail to see how explaining the rules to people is not helping, nor providing a good community. A mod told him not to do something, he stated that he did not understand why, and I explained it. I am not trying to backseat mod by threatening punishment. I am not jumping in with unwarrented criticism. I am simply attempting to enlighten as to the nature of this forum. Surely you realize by now that the community they are attempting to foster here is not necessarily for everyone. Even though they have gotten more lax recently with enforcing the rules, they still expect a certain standard of behavior. I'm not trying to tell you how to use the forum, I am explaining that there is a simple way to keep track of posts that you are involved in. If you do not wish to use it then don't but it makes a shitty argument for bumping. I also disagree with your stance that bumping is not a bad thing. Everyone thinks their own post is the most important. I have already explained how posts remain on the front page for quite a long time, and I believe I read one of the devs (or perhaps it was one of the mods) explain to a keller once, people on this forum read posts flagged as new. It doesn't matter how high up on the page it is, people will look at the NEW flag, look at the title and decide if they want to check it out. If they read it and they can help, they probably will. Repeatedly pushing your issue back to the top only serves to push down other peoples issues and also encourages the behavior leading to a brutal cycle. If you absolutely must bump your post because it received no attention, you are still having the issue, and it fell off the first page since so much time elapsed, it takes very little effort to make the "bump" look like an actual constructive post. For example: "I tried removing sparklefarts.jar from the mods folder like donglord69 suggested and I am still having this issue. Has anybody else had this issue or heard anything about it? I would really like to play but I just can't find the solution no matter what I search for, any help would be appreciated, thanks!" That took like 20 seconds to write, and it shows that you are actually trying things people recommend, and are still looking for a solution to your problem. It also shows a posative attitude that makes people want to help. edit: I do so love that whenever I get into an e-argument on here, people leap to my defense =D Also, my apologies for going further off-topic with this.

I'm not really sure what tangent you are off on or which question you are referring to. The golden rule isn't just about going off-topic, it is about making no-content posts. A moderator told you not to bump your posts and you asked why. This: is a no content post and is therefore against the rules. My apologies for the backseat modding, I just wanted to explain this: Glad your issue got sorted =)

I was... being helpful? That's strange, I thought I was being a condescending dick. Apparently you mods are SO mean, a condescending dick looks helpful by comparison. Now how does that make you feel? Once you are finished drinking, crying, and wondering where you went wrong in life, I am sure if you came back and apologized the OP would be the bigger man and accept it... -snicker- That's funny, every time I open the launcher I think about how much entertainment I get from the forums. Also, I don't remember paying for tekkit and thus being owed any sort of customer service.

At the risk of making a low effort post: Very nice! Some people don't have the patience to generate several worlds until they get a good one though, apparently. Or look for good seeds. Or, idunno look for a good location to build in?
-
His tastes are FAR too discriminating for such filth as default generated maps. How dare you insult his sophisticated minecraft map palette by suggesting otherwise! edit: In fact, fear not OP, I shall get to work on your special map immediately. How long do you think it would take me to carve "get bent" in huge letters in the terrain? Fuck it, nevermind you get the idea.
-
I know you have already been verbally (textually?) bitch-slapped by the mods, but I have to chime in anyway. So let me get this straight, you want to know if anyone who uses tekkit generated worlds using tekkit (so all the ores spawn) until they had a decent seed and then manually edited the terrain to a huge extent until it fit your description of awesome mountains and volcanoes etc. for hundreds of chunks in every direction spending dozens and dozens of hours of editing the world to your exacting specifications all for the benefit of the small group of people who both host tekkit servers and would be interested in a specialized custom sculpted map, all so that the entire project could become obsolete when the next version comes out and the map is no longer compatible? No, I am going to go out on a limb and say nothing like that exists.

NEED HELP Starting Tekkit server
DragnHntr replied to vasily111's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Your server is already running. If you think it isn't, try restarting your computer. Also, the fact that you didn't check to see if it is already running and/or didn't try restarting your computer makes you totally deserve that probation. Can people still read the forums when banned, just not post? Or did I just waste my time heheh -
"bump" is a no content post. Editing your post does flag the post as new again, and its not like these forums move super fast, it is probably still on the first page anyway. People here read posts flagged as new, and if they can help they will. Bumping serves no purpose.

Flying Mod that works with Tekket - FOUND AT LAST!!
DragnHntr replied to Garenthino's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Were you able to get the cheat module working? That is the part with the x-ray type mods. I did not have any luck with the fly module either. Safe mod should work too. -
You also have to forward the port to your computer through your router.

Re: Texture Pack [128x] Sphax PureBDcraft [(REAL)Technic 6.0.7 / Tekkit 2.1] Apparently when you download a zip file on a mac, it automatically extracts it. I read about it in another texture pack thread, the guy was DLing it on a mac and every time it came up as a bunch of files instead of the zip it was supposed to. Macs: Your computer makes decisions so you don't have to! or... "I want a computer but I don't want to have to understand anything about computers... Better get a Mac!"
-
Three thoughts. First, you are only using four engines, those could be attached directly to the box. Second, what is that object you are trying to power? You say it is a mining well but I do not know the sphax pack well enough to be sure. Try running a pump with that setup instead and see if it works. Finally, those are redstone engines, they are weak as shit. Are they even powerful enough to run that device? They aren't even warmed up. They could be emitting so little power that there is no line to show since it aint gonna run anything.

No clue sorry. I would try just dropping the new one in before messing with that though, it should overwrite them all, hopefully, maybe. If I had to guess it's probably the most basic one.

Weird Shitposter Uses All The AVs - Gets Banned.
DragnHntr replied to Kutyus's topic in The Whale Box
Re: Java/Start Up Problem If by av you mean AVG, yes it is crappy. It is one of the prime culprits for the launcher hanging, which you would know if you read the common problems thread. -
Hmm, well you could backup your modpack.jar and grab some different versions of optifine and plop them in there, see if it is any better. There are several different versions that have varied effects on different computers. Like the multicore one runs like shit on my computer for some reason, and the smooth one works better then the basic one. Not sure which version tekkit uses, and I'm really just grasping at straws here heheh, just a thought I had.

tekkit launcher overwrote my old minecraft
DragnHntr replied to manofwar447's question in Tekkit Classic
The tekkit launcher does not touch the .minecraft folder. -
What about any changes you made in optifine? Idunno, the fact that it crapped out after a restore leads me to believe it rolled back some settings you had changed. Or did tekkit always run great for you from day 1 until this problem started?
-
Did you have minecraft set to use more ram, or run at a higher priority and that was undone by the system restore?

Weird Shitposter Uses All The AVs - Gets Banned.
DragnHntr replied to Kutyus's topic in The Whale Box
Re: Java/Start Up Problem Because based on the limited information you gave (since you did not use the bug report format) you are using crappy antivirus that is blocking the launcher. He suggested 2 free antivirus programs that are not pieces of crap that will block legitimate programs you are trying to run without telling you. -
The developers put the mods they want into tekkit, end of story. There is a suggestion thread for bringing mods to their attention so that they can decide whether or not they want to add it, but that is the best you can hope for. Having said that, if there is a mod you want to add to the modpack, you can usually add it yourself.

If by fake you mean pirated, no it will not work. Also discussing illegal activities such as pirated software is against the board rules.

A picture can help us determine the problem as it is most likely a set-up error.
