  1. delete the components and NEI yourself the engines. This isn't a known issue, it must be a problem with your specific server.
  2. it depends on what you are trying to do. Some things like EE condensers work just fine with chunk loaders and nobody online. Other things will stop functioning correctly, some of these involve pipes and dropping tons of items on the ground.
  3. It is a known issue that when nobody is online, pipes do not work correctly. Chunk loaders only work when at least 1 person is online. You have 2 options, you can have each person responsible for shutting off their machines before logging off or risk exploding the server, or you can leave one account logged on at all times.
  4. Some weird shit happens when NOBODY is online that chunk loader blocks can not fix. Infinite water pools will drain, items will not burn in lava, some other shit with items in pipes and machines that can cause tons of items to drop on the ground. For me on my little private server, that issue was solved by connecting all my machines to a master switch in my house using wireless redstone and shutting everything off when I logged off for the night. When I did not do this, certain things would drop tons of items on the ground causing tons of lag, and my combustion engine array would explode from lack of water. For a larger server I actually thought about this, you could have a "master" account that stays logged into the server 24/7.
  5. First thing I would try is putting the devices in range of chunk loaders and give it a day to see if they worked when nobody was on, simply because it is an easy thing to try. If that doesn't work, if it were my server I would try creating a test world and build some EE flowers/EU generators to see if they work when people are offline in a new clean world. If it still doesn't work, back up your world and nuke your server folder and do a clean install (hopefully you don't have a bunch of extra mods and settings.) and possibly again create a clean world on a clean install... with chunk loaders. See if you can get it to work under ideal conditions. Narrow down if it is the server, or the world, or the mechanics causing the problem.
  6. Chunk loader blocks are cool. Firstly, to understand chunks and how they are normally loaded (skip this part if you already know this) In SSP, the world loads and keeps loaded every chunk you visit until you log off, so it isnt normally a problem. In SMP it only loads like 20 chunks around each player. That means if nobody is near machinery, such as a quarry, it will not do anything even if people are still online elsewhere because that section of the map is not loaded on the server. You can force 5 chunks to stay loaded at all times using a chunk loader block, crafted by a lapis surrounded in 8 iron bars. Place one and press F9 to see which chunks are being kept loaded. There is a chance that this is causing your issues, and the people whose machines are working already have chunk loaders keeping their machines loaded on the server at all times and just didnt mention it. I believe Notch chanced the way chunks are kept loaded at some point, so this could explain why you didn't have this issue before. Or I could be completely off-base. Either way it is something you can try, and chunk loaders are nice to know about anyway.
  7. 1.1 which you could see in the options of the launcher.
  8. Uhh yeah... we got that. I told you what to do... in fact here I'll even link it for you: How do I add java to PATH? Also, you should really edit your OP to include the bug report format or Jay is gonna come in here and bitch slap you.
  9. Your post contains very little information, and what you did include is unclear. Firstly try using the bug report format so we have the information we need to help you. If you are simply trying to edit the bat file, just right click on it and click edit. Or open with and select a text editor such as notepad. To fix the java not recognized as a command, you have to add java to the PATH. Google, adding java to path to find out how. Alternatively you can have the bat launch java from the directory it is located in.
  10. For the EE stuff, are there chunk loader blocks around to keep the chunks loaded when they are not around? Also, I believe that if EVERYONE logs off the server, shit doesnt continue to run even with chunk loaders. Ran into some issues with that on my small server. Not sure if there is anything you can do about that. About the IC2 power, is this always a problem, or only when nobody is around? If its always a problem, I am guessing it is set up inproperly, such as the bat box is at the bottom of the cabling instead of the top near the generators and the wires are losing all the small eu packets in wire-length related loss. If it is only when nobody is around, probably same as above. Can't help with the coke ovens, never used railcraft myself. As for the ender chest, I lost the contents of mine once when the computer hosting my server crashed. Then again, i had just put items into it during that same session, so i assumed it just rolled back to the previous state.
  11. been awhile since I messed with my server, but I don't believe NEI gives a shit about permissions mods. There should be a config file specifically for NEI where you can set NEI permissions, for example I set mine so only OPs have the ability to enter cheat mode. Not sure how accurate all this is, just something you might mess with.
  12. This makes no sense whatsoever and I have no idea how it relates to the argument you are trying to make. Having EE as an OPTIONAL mod in the modpack suggests that it is a cool mod that many people can and do enjoy. Tekkit/technic are not all-inclusive mod packs with everything that you could possible want and nothing you don't. They are sort of a platform for people to get started playing with mods. If there are mods you want to see added, then you can add them, if there are mods you do not want to use, by all means disable them. Asking for an excellent mod that many enjoy to be removed for the sole reason that YOU do not like it... well you must have a very high opinion of yourself. Many people do enjoy playing with EE disabled, including myself. Asking for it to be removed because, what, you are afraid nobody will want to play on YOUR server when there are others with EE enabled? That is quite frankly, ridiculous. Thank heavens we have you here to tell us what is going on in the world. Allow ME to tell YOU what is going on in the world. People like different things. Some people like a challenge, some people like it to feel like it is challenging when they are not really in danger, and some people like no challenge whatsoever. Some people like to fight things, some people like to build things, and some people like to accumulate things. I could go on and on, but my point is that you are trying to tell other people how they should have fun. Who made you the president of Fun? Do we really need Minecraft to have fun? I think you should shut it off and go outside and play. How does that make you feel when someone tells you how you should enjoy your leisure time? Again, what the fuck are you talking about?
  13. In order to know how soon the next update would occur after the previous one, you would need to know the expected time of its arrival. From the rules post: No asking for ETA's - We are tired of these questions. Updates depend on lots of different things and they happen when they happen. Just because they used the term ETA, the full wording of the rule makes it clear that your question is stupid, breaks the rules, and will not be answered. Also your insistence on being dense leads me to believe that you are probably trolling.
  14. I didn't say conductive pipes don't work, but I know there are issues with them, especially with powerconverters if i recall correctly. Also, no you do not need a full stack of each ingredient to start a farm. It will not attempt to plant until it has placed all the dirt, but it will plant whatever dirt you give it, and whatever seeds you give it once the dirt is placed. You can run a farm with one seed if you want.
  15. Just noticed OP is using buildcraft pump with IC2 compressor, that was his problem. As for the correct setup only making one snowball and stopping, how patient are you? I just tested it in my test world and it made one snowball and appeared to stop, i watched it for about 10 seconds and it started making another. Looks like there is a delay built in that forces it to wait after each snowball. Adding overclockers causes it to make the snowballs faster but there is still the 10 second delay after each one.
  16. try using an actual engine and no conductive pipes instead of an energy link. You can still use electric engine if you are dead set on powering it using EU.
  17. Well, you could always pop into NEI cheat mode, hand yourself a stack of the forestry tin and delete a stack of IC2 tin. Even trade, not really cheating IMO. Not sure why they are not interchangable, one of the mods is supposed to have an ore dictionary that keeps that from happening. Now that you mention it, the habitat locator (or some bee thing) in the new version of forestry only takes forestry bronze(?) and not ic2 bronze. Not sure what is up with that but consider it confirmed that some recipes are not correctly using metals from the different mods interchangably. This probably isn't something that technic can fix however, sounds like forestry if you want to ask sir sengir about it, but for the love of god don't mention technic =p
  18. Swing and a miss. The mod pack is for you. The forums are for them. Well them and people who actually know how to read stickies, lurk before posting, and generally contribute to the community that they are trying to form. The fact that there is a forum at all is another testiment to their generosity. There doesn't need to be a community of helpful and supportive posters here for people to come to with questions about the modpack, but there is anyway. Whether people are intelligent enough to navigate these treacherous waters and actually make use of the resources here, well that is up to them. If you do not like the community here, by all means get bent. It is not that we never visit other forums ever, simply that this one is preferable. I have two tabs open right now, technic forums and minecraft forums. MC forums are full of dipshits asking the same questions that have already been answered over and over, posts without content, random memes and "+diamonds!" etc etc. This forum has cool people like jakj and jay casually mocking people like you. Guess which one brings me more enjoyment. Since you obviously do not and will not understand why we prefer this atmosphere, I direct you in the general direction of those other forums you prefer. You clearly do not belong here.
  19. Technic team doesn't take donations. They are trying to get people to donate to the mod authors only. Tehnic pack is operating at a loss. Servers and such are all paid for directly out of the pocket of the devs. They are putting their time, effort and money into technic so that you can enjoy it, and all they ask in return is a forum community where people read the stickies without having to be told to do so. Is it really that much to ask for people to actually look for their own answers before posting?
  20. neat... restart the server?
  21. youre using the hamachi network IP i assume. Also, I am not sure you can only use hamachi to port forward, it is still going through your router no? Try port forwarding through your router as well.
  22. Man this thread is gold. Popcorn indeed. Here's an idea, if you don't like the way technic team does things, don't use it. It's seriously not that hard to make your own modpack. My wife and I really wanted to play on 1.2.3 (Thaumcraft 2! Yay!) so I went to the forums and asked when technic would update... no wait that would be moronic. What I did was spend a couple hours making a mod pack with 90% of the things technic has. I haven't even modded very heavily before, haven't done it in awhile, and know jack shit about java. Just buckle down, get your hands dirty and do it yourself. Figure it out, its rewarding. If you really really can't figure out how to do it yourself or are too lazy, can't you just be happy that something like technic exists at all? I mean seriously, if someone handed you a free sandwich are you going to complain about what kind it is? Nobody owes you a free sandwich, either take it or don't but for the love of god stop bitching. Kaker, you are spending far too much effort on them.
  23. I prefer GIMP =p Here I can make them for you. Transparent: Monochrome: just rename it to block_advmachine.png, and it is in the AdvancedMachines_3.6_client.zip use whichever you want your blocks to look like, or try them both, or this won't work at all and I am just wasting your time. Worth a shot tho!
  24. Well that's odd. Are you using a texture pack? If so, you could try disabling it, if not you could try using one that supports advanced machines. Alternatively, you could find that file in the advanced machines zip in tekkit/mods and back it up then replace it with a transparent texture of the same dimensions and see if that helps. edit: or monochrome instead of transparent
