EE: Any way to give fully charged Klein stars?
DragnHntr replied to gummby8's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Disable the ability to craft relays but not the relays themselves, so that ops can spawn them for use in charging the stars. AFAIK there is no way to spawn already charged items. Edit: forgot about the tablet trick. So yeah, forget the relay. Again though, if you disabled tablets you can simply disable the recipe instead so that ops can still spawn and use them to charge the stars. -
Re: "cracked" Or hell, if you have a paypal account just buy the damn game for him regardless of what they say and if they ask just tell them you figured out how to get it working for him ;D edit: I meant the OP buy it for his brother, but that is really cool karinth :D
-
Re: "cracked" I just assumed that since they did let him play, but aren't letting him buy it that they have some personal reason for not wanting it purchased, in which case they would not want him to buy it for his brother either. If they don't care then yeah, just buy it for him then he can slip you the money for it on the side edit: oh yeah, if he is also under 18/living with them then they can absolutely still say no.

Problem with installing tekkit 1.1 server not running
DragnHntr replied to ontbijtkoe's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Gotcha, so since MCmyadmin is designed to run craftbukkit, you need to trick it into thinking tekkit is bukkit, which should work because, well it is bukkit lol. I still can't help but think you are over-working it. I have only ever hosted servers on my own machine so i'm not sure what you can and can't do, but if it was my machine and I was trying to do this, I would remove everything (or just create a new folder to run it from), install ONLY tekkit, and then rename the tekkit jar to craftbukkit.jar and see if it runs. Best of luck :) -
Re: "cracked" What sucks is he said they will not allow his brother to pay for it himself, which sounds like he already has the money and the parents just arent letting him buy it.

Problem with installing tekkit 1.1 server not running
DragnHntr replied to ontbijtkoe's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Not familiar with mcmyadmin, but unless it is drastically different from a standard server I am confused by your post. You say you are installing tekkit over a standard 1.1 server, none of which should be necessary. The Tekkit server DL is a standalone server that runs by itself. You just DL, extract, and run the launcher. I am guessing this is simply my lack of knowledge of the system you are using, but just in case I thought I would throw in my impression on the off chance it helps :) -
Re: "cracked" It is against the forum rules to discuss illegal activities such as pirated software. You will find no help on this forum getting a cracked version of minecraft to run tekkit. You need to try harder to explain why he needs a legal version. Are they aware he is using a cracked version? You could tell them that not only is it a poor substitute for the full version because he can not use it to connect to your modded multiplayer server but it is actually illegal and you could theoretically get in trouble with the law for using it.

Inside the quote box in my post is the answer to your problem. I got it from the sticky I mentioned. Stickies, also called Pinned posts are posts flagged by the moderators as important and they are always at the top of a section. The Tekkit Bug Board section of the forum in this case. Another sticky is called New Report Format (REQUIRED READING), and all bug report posts are supposed to use the format contained within it.

Couldnt you just use MCedit to remove the offending blocks? Assuming of course you know where the issue is.
-
In the Common Problems and Solutions sticky Also you didn't use the bug report format ;D

None of the major mods work on my server...
DragnHntr replied to mage11561's question in Tekkit Classic
Just a hunch but it sounds like it wasn't a clean install. Not familiar with MultiCraft, but i'm guessing there are other mods/files from your previous server that are interfering. I know you said you started a new world, but there are other files that could be interfering as well. If it was my personal server I would just delete/rename the entire old server folder and start from scratch and see if you have the same problem. Or I could be way off-base Good luck! -
With the EE blocks, it's actually rotating so the face is pointing down. I experienced it with the IC2 blocks as well. I haven't tried it but you should be able to whack it with a wrench to realign it, unless it is only a display error.
-
You're out of luck then. I'm pretty sure they switched to launcher-only specifically so that only people with a premium account can use it. Also discussing illegal activities, such as pirating software, are against the boards rules and can get you a ban pretty quickly. You are pretty much not going to get any sort of help locating an older standalone version of tekkit/technic on these forums.
-
You just run the launcher and play, there is no need for specific versions as the tekkit/technic pack run through the launcher is a seperate install from normal minecraft.
-
Couple things, first this is the Tekkit forum, you are asking about Technic. Also, is there a reason you are not just using the launcher?

Solar Panels, Tin Engines and BC pumps...question
DragnHntr replied to Cisco78's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
One thing on your infinite water sources, I read that the pump should be in a corner of the 3x3 pool, not the center, or there is a chance of the pumps water consumption to pull water in a manner that would cause the pool to dry up. It is just something I recall reading so I do not know how true it is. -
Try copying over the world files from your old server to the tekkit folder. If they won't load then no it doesn't work What version are you running the old server on? If it is higher then 1.1 then I am guessing it will not work, but the best way to check would be to just try it hehe.

Changing from CommandBook To Essentials?
DragnHntr replied to Dumbtack's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Do not sign your posts, you will get an infraction. You can modify your post to remove it. Not sure about essentials, i am sure there is a reason the team chose to use commandbook. I assume it is more compatible with the different mods. -
Uhh yeah, those things I said You would just have to swap the pipes for tubes. Alternatively if the items are lying on the ground you can use a powered obsidian pipe to pick them up and place them in the pipe system. It would help if we knew exactly what you were trying to do, what is this collector you speak of?

Solar Panels, Tin Engines and BC pumps...question
DragnHntr replied to Cisco78's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
This thread solves my problems I was having with my power setup as well. I tried adding more pumps, more engines, more output teleport pipes, but for some reason it never occured to me that funneling all that water through a single teleport pipe frequency was bottlenecking it. Thanks guys! If I may throw in another question, how do conductive pipes decide where to send the power? My setup had 7 fuel powered combustion engines sending power to two refineries, with plans to add some forestry equipment on the network later. While messing with the water cooling I decided to try running the pumps from the power system as well, and when I connected a single pump, two green refineries turned into one blue and one red and stuttering. Why did one pump consume so much of the power? my conclusion based off the little information I recalled was that buildcraft machines are capable of consuming far more energy then is required for optimal operation, and the pump was therefore consuming a third of the energy or something. That still doesnt explain why the refineries were running at different speeds, I guess the power is not split evenly between all outputs? Also, are forestry machines also capable of consuming far more power then needed for optimal operation as well, or are they more efficient? I was planning on running several small groups of combustion engines on different power frequencies next time I set it up, with the water coming in on multiple frequencies as well of course Or perhaps I am completely on the wrong track and there are other mechanics I need to be aware of. Either way, my apologies if I am derailing the thread. -
from: Topic: COMMON PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS in the bug report section, where this should have been posted, in the correct format, after reading the stickies which would have removed the need for the post in the first place :P

A transposer, filter, or sorting machine into pneumatic tubes. Or logistic pipes wish for a genie to put logistic pipes into tekkit :P
-
Get MCedit, load up the world and remove the blocks that you think are crashing the server. :D
-
First, this is in the wrong section, tekkit does not have thaumcraft, only Technic. Couple things to make it more efficient, you could run 1 peat bog with an auto crafting table making the bog earth and replace your steam engines with peat fired engines. That cuts out your need to make some of it into coal. You could stick a condenser in the middle of the farm to power the runes instead of running conduit to a node, and consuming your liquid vis. Are you using 2 runes per farm? I was only able to cover about half a farm per rune (boosted with iron). In my experience, a farm being boosted with a verdant symbol matures incredibly quickly. Your blocks would be ticking at a ridiculous rate, and 14 farms of such would have a preposterous wheat output. It sounds really neat, but I don't see a way around the lag with such a massive operation. Heres a couple alternatives. First and most simple, you could simply use EE to create the diamonds instead. If you are dead set on thaumcraft or want to be more efficient, you could use EE to create obsidian and pump that into crucibles to dup diamonds. Personally I'm not a huge fan of EE as it seems too powerful in relation to other mods, however If you are going to be duping diamonds anyway, you might as well be duping them in EE. Thaumcraft is still handy for the other neat things you can do with it, such as the talismans, portals, and boots. Anyway, good luck!

Good to know, that could help fix the quirks in my own system. So basically I need to just leave more room for pipe and don't try to cram the whole system into the smallest space possible :P
