hicksjr1 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I've searched around, and have failed to find another thread with my specific issue...so here we go. Earlier today I upgraded my tekkit_lite server from 0.5.2 to 0.5.7. The server permissions, white-list, ops list, and world folder were the only things that I copied over. Since I started up the new version (0.5.7) the server runs fine for about 30 minutes; however, the memory usage continually climbs until there isn't any memory available, which leads to a crash. (Crash report will be at bottom). I've continued restarting the server when it becomes unresponsive to even console commands (at this point it is using more than 4 gigs of ram. So, I moved the world back over to 0.5.2, and I'm seeing the same issue. I'm unsure if someone placed dimensional anchors (which gave me issues in 0.5.2 in general) in the short time that the server has been up, so I removed the mod from the mods folder thinking that would fix the issue, but it didn't. Would the item actually have to be removed from the world or is removing the mod itself sufficient (I'm not terribly familiar with minecraft/java as I'm a C++ guy myself). Any advice, throught provoking comments, questions would be appreciated. Thanks for reading! I understand that it is an OutOfMemory error; however, this was not an issue with version 0.5.2. Also, the memory usage grows from the time the server starts up until the server crashes even if there are zero players in it. This is leading me to believe there is a memory leak somewhere, which cannot be simply countered by adding more memory. Quote

Try letting it gen another world, see if it crashes. Quote
hicksjr1 Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 Okay, here are some updates. I generated a new world and let the server sit there. The memory did not increase. I reloaded the old world and continued my testing. The issue seemed to have gone away...until I entered the chunk containing my logistic pipe network. The memory usage immediately spiked by about 400 MB and continued rising. Even after I logged out of the server, the memory usage continued climbing at about 4-6 MB per second! Quote
