Technic Launcher for .Jar

I have had a lot of trouble using the .EXE for the technic installer... I cant find an install guide for using the .Jar version anywhere! curiously the file wants to open as a .RAR file. Any links or help would be awsome

Right click> run with> [appropriate version of java]

Thanks maybe I did somthing wrong when I tried that... It wanted to open as a .RAR!

that's because jar files are actually rar files. they are java rar files, or "jar" files. get it?

Yeh I read up on it just before reading your post.

Well I have now found through some cleaver CMD reading that my launcher is looking for java in programs x86.... that cant surely be right! can I change where it looks?

I have no idea why, but i can not download the .jar launcher, if anyone knows why this is please do tell me, i can dowlnoad the windows and mac versions just fine, but not the linux anyone know if linux support has been pulled or something?
