Only Tekkit servers are refusing to connect. *Resolved

Launcher/pack Version: 0.5.4.9/2.1.0|Latest|Rec. build

Operating System:Windows 7 Pro 64bit

Version of Java: Java7 - Win 64bit

Antivirus:Bitdefender

Description of Problem:

On March 21 I was able to connect. Since Minecraft updated to 1.2.4 I have been unable to connect to any Tekkit server with the Tekkit client. If I fire up the vanilla client, and connect to a vanilla server it will allow me a connection.

What I have tried reinstalling the client by downloading a fresh copy from the technicpack.net website. Double and a triple reinstalling of Java 7.

If it helps I used the .jar to install the technicpack client.

The servers I am trying to connect to are: play.sgtekkit.net, tycooncraft.co.uk, and minecraft.occupies.me

Error Messages: Failed to connect to the server - Connection timed out:connect

So basicly start by disabling your firewall atleast, preferably BitDefender compleately and then try to connect. Make sure to allow the Tekkit Launcher access to the internet in BitDefender. Also try the executable (.exe) version of the launcher and make sure it's allowed past the firewall and any other software that may limit it also.

Note that Java is actually the process that is running Minecraft so you should also allow java.exe through the firewall. It is located in your java directory. You should be able to find java.exe at this path (assuming your Windows installation is on the C drive): C:\program files\java\jre7\bin

Since your at it, you might aswell add javaw.exe to the allowed list.

The Vanilla Minecraft launcher uses javaw.exe but it seems the Technic Launcer uses java.exe, atleast in my case.

I have read "http://www.technicpack.net/still-not-working/". "http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,4922.0.html" is not related to this issue.

I disabled my firewall and antivirus without turning off the program itself and got that same results. I confirmed those .exe's were on the exceptions.

hold up, I'm getting a vision.... the voices are telling me that you... you... use AVG! is that right? do you use AVG for your antivirus? I'd even take norton as an answer.

Nope, I stated my anti virus was BitDefender.

I wound never use Norton because its a giant pile of @*$%.

Turns out it was an issue of my modem being used as a modem and a router. I had my ISP change it over to a strictly bridged setting as a modem. I will have to break out my old router and hook it up soon.
