edipil Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 For some reason, redstone engines won't power a quarry on my server when they should be doing so. Does anyone know why this might happen and how to fix it?
BLAZE MkIV Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I believe this was a deliberate nerfing of redstone engines. I'd suggest feeding scaffolding to a sterling engine for cheap temporary power. Or an fast electric engine and a MV solar array.
ryane512 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Use steam engines, you put them next to the quarry and put coal in the engine, then give the engine a redstone signal. Redstone engines don't produce enough power to quarry.
edipil Posted February 19, 2013 Author Posted February 19, 2013 Thanks, I am aware of all those other engines that can be used to power a quarry. I was just wondering why the redstone engines weren't working as I believe they used to work at powering a quarry.
Teraku Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 They were nerfed because people started making huge-ass, maintenance-free power grids. I believe power now dissipates once it's inside machines, so the quarry will never save up enough energy to perform a single action because the energy dissipates too quickly.
AlbertaA Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 They only produce .05mj now max is 1mj when glowing red.
