Quarries in our smp server do not work.

quarries in our server don't do anything even when powered by different engines. we've tried redstone steam and combustion... anyone help?

we have turned them on, there powered but they don't actually begin to dig is there any reason for this?

If the quarries are in the spawn area they will not work due to spawn protection. Even if players have spawn build/destroy rights, it won't help because it is the machine attempting to modify the spawn.

I had this same problem. I've been using Tin engines to make the quarry work from then on and it's working fine now, if a bit laggy.
