melandor0 Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Our base is about 2000 blocks from another player's base. Chunks inbetween are not loaded. Can we fire our missiles upon him successfully? It's a T3 launcher so range is 9999 blocks if I remember correctly. Quote
cerevox Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 IIRC a missile can't travel through unloaded chunks, although it has possible that has changed since last time I checked. I am sure though that the chunk has to at least have been explored, since if there are unexplored chunks the missile shouldn't go through. Quote
alekthefirst Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 If you put world anchors between so all chuncks are loaded, it should work. Or you can yustbmove there witha cruise launcher. A battery box and a battery(or an energy cube) Quote
cerevox Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I find cruise launchers to be a little hard to use. Perhaps I am just retarded but I routinely blow myself up with them. Honestly though, your best bet is to sneak in close and fire several missiles at them. Any good base should have an anti-missile missile sitting on a pad hooked to a radar at all times so if they are actually defending themselves your first missile will get shot down anyway. Quote
melandor0 Posted March 7, 2013 Author Posted March 7, 2013 Actually we tried it and it worked. Sure, it took like several minutes for it to arrive but they really do live up to the IC part in ICBM. :D Quote
cerevox Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Ohhhhhh, they do travel through unloaded chunks now? That must of been in an update I missed. Very good information to know. Thanks for updating us. Quote
