I've had the same problem for some time now! Very annoying. Tried to use a mod pack from the website, did not work. I even tried to make my own mod pack a while ago (and I'm pretty sure I did it the right way) and that did not work either. Would be super happy for a solution!

And it seems we're not the only ones having the problem, so someone should be able to find out whats wrong...

What's usually wrong is that the modpack.jar needs to contain Minecraft Forge, and it needs to actually be called modpack.jar, not "modpack.jar.zip" or "modpack.zip" which happens REALLY often with inexperienced users because their extensions are hidden.

Fyi: I made my own modpack and I made sure it's all according to the instructions. The modpack.jar is actually a modpack.jar, the mods are in the right folders, and I even put in a config folder. Not only is it loading as vannilla, but I found a cool looking modpack named solaris and added it according to instructions and it is vannilla too. I tried playing as creative and there is nothing new. Help!

actually I found the fix to that problem: instead of using the link that dropbox gives you to share, go to where it says download, right click, and "copy link address." the direct link will be in your clipboard.
