[Tekkit 2.1.1] Watch of Flowing Time stopped working

Question

Posted

Launcher/pack Version: Tekkit 2.1.1 SMP

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.7.2 (though it happens with friends as well who are on windows machines)

Version of Java: [Client] "1.6.0_29" [server] "1.7.0_03"

Description of Problem: When the first Watch of Flowing Time was created, everything worked great. No machine speed increase, but the sun-scrolling was a godsend. Two more watches have been created since then, and everything has been working fine. Just recently, the watches have become less effective. It started moving the sun (or moon) across the sky less "per tick" while it was sun-scrolling. This was at least bearable. Just today, the watches stopped working completely. When sun-scrolling forward or backward, the sun/moon just sort of glitches in the sky, moving forward a bit and then rewinding just a hair, then forward, then back a hair. I'm stumped.

The only thing I can think of is that we've been adding more and more to the world. Is the sun-scrolling related to ram shortages or cpu being pegged at 100%?

Error Messages: There are no error messages, just unexpected behavior.

Link to pastebin of log: The log makes no mention when using the watch.

Glitchy moon/sun is a side effect of a low tick rate. The client gets ahead and when it gets the next actual time from the server it resets it back to where it "should be."

The solution to this is getting your tick rate back up.

Sorry if this is a noob question, but how do I get my "tick rate" back up? Do you just mean, get a beefier server?

Upgrade the server, like bigtime. A item like the flow of time, is damn serverheavy, especially with several ppl online. Tekkit is allready pretty serverheavy, and if you run it on basic settings, well, u will get alot of CPU usage, and issues.

Tekkit IS NOT leightweight, by far, its a real hard mopack to run in regards of usage. You cant rent a server, that say u can have X amount of players online etc, they base theyre stuff on Vanilla, and Tekkit is far from that.
