Server problems

Dear Reader,

I'm new to the forum, i hosting a tekkit server for about 1,5 year now. And just recently if getting problems whit lag.

I will first post some specs about the machibe.

OS: Ubuntu

MEM: 12GB Ram

CPU: 4X2.65Ghz

The machine is running on a VMware ESXi 5.1 Enterprice server.

The resources for the tekkit machine are reserved so there is no issue that the machine can not access the resources.

Internet connection: 50Mbit down / 5Mbit up

whit in 3 months it would be: 150Mbit down / 150Mbit up

The server is whitelisted and only 8 players are on the list at this moment.

And at the busyesed moment only 5 players are online.

But some times the server lags like hell, mostly this comes trough a player that has a overflow on pipes so there are masseve blockdrops on the ground. If you remove the blocks from the ground al lag is gone. How could i force that ground drops are gonna faster than the normale 5 minutes.

Or is there someone how have a better solution for this problem? I hope there is someone how could help me to fix the issue.

I like to share more experions on hosting the tekkit server and like to help other people whit there problems so questions could always be asked!

If someone overflows their machine, remove it and all the piping connected to it. That will encourage people to be more careful about machine construction. Warning the general population about this first will help.

Another option for this if you want to be the 'justified' admin, you can install a plugin called, entityadmin, which allows you to delete any entities.

So say theres 3772957382 items droped on the ground

You can do /clearentity item (worldname)

Perfectly safe plugin and one hell of a clean up tool! ;)

Sorry for the late reply but thats looks like a great plugin that will make it a lot beter on the server no bans needed just a simple cleaning tool.
