Hello tekkit community!

I am currently Moving over to Linux as my main operating system, but I have ran into a bit of a problem. Firstly, I Already have java 17 installed. I have also installed and updated my nvidia drivers.

I get a white tekkit window after trying to launch tekkit classic. I'm Hoping someone can help me resolve this.

Thank you for your time,

Hi mgalekgolo.

I'm glad to hear that you are moving to linux. The potential for gaming on linux is growing rapidly these days, thanks to valve, and other developers who are making/porting games for linux.

I myself have been using mint for a few years now, and i'm not going back. It has it's disadvantages yes, and sometimes it can seem stupid, but overall it's very practical and innovative.

Oh well, back on topic! I was able to reconstruct the problem you are experiencing, and it seems to be a driver issue. Please tell me how you installed your video drivers, as that is most likely where the problem lies. If you downloaded them directly from the nvidia website please try the following:

Go into Menu < System Tools < System Settings

Under hardware, choose the "additional drivers"

If you followed my instructions correctly you should see this:

Now, enable the recommended driver and restart your system.

Let me know how in worked :) and feel free to contact me if you need help with anything else with mint.

Hmm, I used terminal to install the driver, but it doesn't show under proprietary drivers. I've been trying to install it with the .run, but quitting the x server always makes the screen go black with a cursor, and I can't type.

Guys, stop signing your posts.

On an unrelated note, congrats on moving to Mint. I've been a mint user since Mint 8, and it's super practical.

ARCH ALL THE WAY!

On Topic: You may need to update LWJGL, I remember having this problem when using linux.
